One of the nicest, leafiest, most established communities in Ottawa is the Civic Hospital / Island Park neighbourhood. A swath of land that runs from the Central Experimental Farm up to the Queensway and northward along Island Park Drive, this is a deeply rooted community featuring elegant, older homes amidst a plenitude of green space. While convenient for anyone working at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus (including the Ottawa Heart Institute and the Parkdale Clinic), this is a centrally location with ideal commutes to downtown and elsewhere by bus, car, bicycle or even walking.

When you live in Ottawa’s Civic Hospital & Island Park neighbourhoods, you’re also near a wealth of shopping, dining and recreational activities. That’s because you’re just a stone’s throw away from Little Italy, Hintonburg, Wellington West, Dow’s Lake, The Glebe and Westboro. Here you can walk out your front door and have your choice of all kinds of great parks and trails for jogging, cycling or walking. Homes in the Civic Hospital neighbourhood tend to be large single-family dwellings on bigger, meticulously maintained lots.
